Gwynedd Mercy University Announces Hiring of New President

A Catholic university near Philadelphia has announced that it will hire the provost of a Pittsburgh school as its next president.

Deanne Horner D'Emilio will become the sixth president of Gwynedd Mercy University on Aug. 1.

D'Emilio is currently provost and vice president for academic affairs at Carlow University, another school founded by the Sisters of Mercy, a Catholic religious order.

D'Emilio succeeds Kathleen Owens, who has been president of Gwynedd Mercy for 15 years.

Carlow has not yet announced a replacement provost.
