Gunman Shoots Patron During Robbery of Philadelphia Corner Store

Police are searching for an armed robber who shot a patron inside a Philadelphia corner store.

On Nov. 4, a man entered the A&A Grocery store at 2000 North Gratz Street approached the counter with a gun and demanded money from the cashier.

A 45-year-old patron entered the store and tried to stop the robbery, but the gunman fired a shot and hit the patron in his right leg, police said.

The suspect took an unknown amount of cash from the drawer and fled the scene. The customer was taken to Temple Hospital, treated and listed as stable.

The suspect is described as a man between 5 foot 9 inches and 5 foot 10 inches, thin build, brown complexion and having a beard with a mustache. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath a green jacket with black cuffs and a waistband, jeans, black sneakers and a skully.

Central Division Detectives is investigating the shooting and is asking the public for help.
