A West Philadelphia abortion doctor facing murder charges in the deaths of seven babies and a patient has again pleaded not guilty to federal drug charges.
Kermit Gosnell entered the plea Thursday at his arraignment on a revised drug indictment.
Federal prosecutors allege he used his clinic as a pill mill, freely giving patients prescriptions for highly addictive painkillers.
The 71-year-old Gosnell faces trial next year after pleading not guilty to the eight murder counts. City prosecutors say he and his staff used scissors to kill seven viable babies born alive, and caused the drug-overdose death of a patient. Several staff members have pleaded guilty to third-degree murder.
Authorities called the West Philly clinic a “house of horrors.”
Lawyers in the case are under a gag order.
