Renegade Goat Backs Up Busy Highway

It took emergency responders more than an hour to corral an animal loose along a busy roadway this morning.

The renegade goat and along with an auto accident snarled traffic on the Pulaski Skyway (U.S. Route 1-9/State Route 139) in New Jersey.

Jersey City Police Capt. Edgar Martinez says it took 90 minutes for emergency services to corral the goat as it ran along the four-lane bridge between Jersey City and Kearny Point starting around 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Martinez says while that was taking place, there was also an accident involving four vehicles. Martinez says no one was injured.

Officials are trying to determine where the goat came from. Anyone with information should call 201-547-5492.

The landmark Pulaski Skyway traverses the Passaic and Hackensack Rivers.
