3rd β€œGo-Go” Bar Shooting Victim ID'd

On Thursday, New Jersey authorities identified a Newark man as the third person killed during a fight at a strip club Christmas morning.

The man was 27-year-old victim was Mushir Cureton, authorities tell The Star-Ledger.

Police are still looking for the gunman who killed him and two employees at Slick's Go Go Bar in Irvington around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday. Police say a suspect opened fire being turned away by a bouncer at the bar about 15 miles west of New York City.

β€œIt appears the gunman was trying to enter the bar armed and was stopped by the bouncer,” Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Chief Anthony Ambrose said in a statement to the paper.

Earlier, police said Cureton didn't appear to have been an unintended target. Prosecutors say the club owner's son, 34-year-old Pierre Clervoyant of Elizabeth, and an employee, 32-year-old Woodley Daniel of Irvington were also killed.

The two wounded men were only identified as a 27-year-old Irvington resident and a 34-year-old East Orange resident.

A witness told a local TV station that shots erupted after a fight broke out on the steps of the club. He said about 100 people were at Slick's at the time.

Authorities say it appeared the gunman started firing outside the bar and the victims were hit on the street, prosecutors told NBC 4 New York.

Witnesses have said a gray sedan sped away from the club just after the shootings.
