Communities in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware Join in 2019 National Night Out Against Crime

National Night Out is a community event that helps bring the community and law enforcement together. Since 1984, the event falls annually on the first Tuesday on August. This year the event falls today, Tuesday, August 6, 2019.

The event main goal is to increase awareness about police programs in communities, such as drug prevention, neighborhood watch, and other anti-crime efforts. 

Various neighborhoods in Philadelphia as well in New Jersey and Delaware are set to participate in the event by hosting block parties where residents can meet their local police officials. 

Within the Philadelphia area, there are over 30 locations that will being celebrating National Night Out. 

  • Helping Hands at Merty Street from 5- 10 p.m.
  • Fox Chase Town Watch at 500 Rhawn Street from 6 - 8:30 p.m.
  • Southwark Development Corporation at 1021 South 4th Street from 4 - 8 p.m.
  • Friends of the South Street Mini Station at 905 South Street from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
  • 5th District Town Watch at Gorgas Park from 6 - 10 p.m.
  • PA Army National Guard at 500 Rhawn Street from 5 - 8:30 p.m.
  • 8th Police District at 3100 Red Lion Road from 5 - 8 p.m.
  • 9th PDAC and Spring Garden CDC at 401 N 21st Street from 5 - 8:30 p.m.
  • Mt. Airy Concerned Neighbors at 8100 Blk of Lowber Street from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
  • Wakefield 49ers Community Improvement at 4926 Wakefield Street from 6 - 8:00 p.m.
  • Step By Step Town Watch at 100 Blk W Weaver Street from 5 - 8:30 p.m.
  • Masjidullah The Center for Human Excellence at 7433 Limekiln Pike 4 - 8 p.m.
  • One Step Forward Two Steps Back at 4700 Blk of Tacony Street from 6 - 8 p.m.
  • United Blk Captains Association at 143 North 51st Street from 6 - 10 p.m.
  • North Star Park at 1102 North 42nd Street from 3 -7 p.m.
  • South Square Town Watch at 21st and Naudain from 8 - 10 p.m
  • Neighbors United For Change at 1400 South 31st Street 5 - 9 p.m.
  • The Houseofable and 36 Ward at 1200 South 19th Street from 5 - 8:30 pm
  • Thompson Street & Vicinity Town Watch at 5549 W. Thompson Street from 6 - 10 p.m.

There are also some sites in New Jersey and Delaware that are set to join in on this annual event.
