New Jersey State Police have identified a man who was killed when his car rolled over and burst into flames near a toll plaza on the Garden State Parkway.
Police said John Muller, of Glen Ridge, died in the single-car crash at around 11:45 a.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes at exit 165 in Paramus.
Sgt. Jeff Flynn said Muller was attempting to exit the parkway when his 2001 Acura struck a concrete island and the toll booth. The car then flipped, landed on its roof and caught fire.
Flynn said medics pronounced Muller dead at the scene. Police continued to investigate.
