Freeze Watch as Winter Blast, Snow Hit Philadelphia, Suburbs

Here's hoping April snow showers also bring May flowers.

Philadelphia and its suburbs awoke Tuesday to freezing temperature and a light dusting of snow.

The National Weather Service says a Freeze Warning is in effect in the region including Delaware and South Jersey until 10 a.m., and another round of sub-freezing temperatures is expected again Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

The weather is also affecting air travel to the area.

According to the aviation tracking website FlightAware, all inbound flights at Philadelphia International Airport were held at their origin until 8:45 a.m. due to low visibility.

Temperatures were in the lows 30s, and despite sunny skies, the wind is making it feel more like the 20s. Temperatures are expected to climb to 45 later Tuesday.
