Car Strikes Child in South Jersey

A car struck a child along a South Jersey road Tuesday night leaving the child hurt.

The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. along Broad Street near W 4th Street in Florence Township, Burlington County. Police arrived to find the boy lying next to the car in the middle of Broad Street.

Medics used a helicopter to transport the 5-year-old boy to a local hospital in stable condition, according to Florence Township Police.

As Skyforce10 hovered overhead, you could see police responding to the scene including looking at the Lincoln Towncar involved in the wreck.

The driver of the car wasn't hurt.

Police didn't announce any charges and said the investigation into a cause for the crash continued late Tuesday night.
