Flipped Car Reveals Pennsylvania Pot Mailing Scheme

A flipped over car helped western Pennsylvania police sniff out a pot-by-mail scheme.

Indiana Township police say 22-year-old Cody Pavlik told officers checking on the abandoned car that he'd been receiving marijuana shipments by mail for two years.

The Valley News Dispatch reports police went to Pavlik's Indiana Township house after finding the car Saturday. The newspaper says they smelled marijuana and discovered 1{ pounds of the drug, related paraphernalia, packaging material and nearly $32,000 in cash.

Investigators say they intercepted two more packages intended for Pavlik. They contained a total of about 14 pounds of marijuana.

Pavlik was charged Wednesday with felony possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. He's free on non-monetary bail.

Information on Pavlik's lawyer wasn't immediately available.
