Fire Guts South Jersey Strip Mall

There were no injuries as the flames tore through a strip mall that includes a Starbucks, restaurant and dog groomer

Fire tore through a Cherry Hill, New Jersey, strip mall Friday morning.

The flames shot from the strip mall along East Evesham Road at Short Hills Drive around 11 a.m. By 11:30 a.m. heavy smoke still billowed from the businesses as firefighters poured water onto the building.

Some of the businesses in the strip mall include Classic Cake, Camp Bow Wow dog grooming, a Pho restaurant and a Starbucks location. The roof over all the businesses, except for Starbucks appeared to be gone.

Cherry Hill firefighters said no people or dogs were hurt in the fully-involved fire.

The fire was brought under control shortly before noon, firefighters said.

The property management company had no comment about the blaze.

A fire in 2015 damaged a deli in another building in the same strip mall complex back in 2015.

The fire marshal is expected to search for a cause for Friday's blaze.
