Police say 2 men pushed a traffic flagger to the ground and took his cash

Delaware State Police say a flagger controlling traffic in Woodside was robbed.

It happened about 10:15 a.m. Monday on Walnut Shade Road. Troopers say the flagman was directing pedestrian and vehicular traffic while road construction was under way.

Two men approached the 21-year-old flagger, requiring to be escorted through the construction zone. Police say the men knocked the flagger to the ground, took cash from the victim and fled south on Millchop Lane.

The victim wasn’t hurt, cops said.

Police described the first suspect as a thin black man, 18-23 years old, about 6-feet tall with facial hair who was wearing a gray hoodie. Investigators say the second suspect is a thin black man, 18-23 years old, about 5-feet-8-inches tall with facial hair who was wearing a black hoodie.
