It wasn't the happiest start to the new year for one small pup.
Snowball, a white Terrier, was found wandering alone at Thursday's Mummers Parade along Broad Street.
A spectator brought him to the Philadelphia Fire Department's Ladder 5 and the department put out a message to its Twitter followers asking for help in getting him home.

Well, it only took a few hours to get the little guy back to his owners. By 8 p.m., Snowball's parents had contacted the department and by 9 p.m. he was back in their arms.
Snowball left quite the impression on the men and women that took care of him. They named him an honorary firefighter.
