Father, Son Found Dead in New Jersey Home

Authorities say the two people found dead inside a northern New Jersey home over the weekend were a father and his 11-year-old son.

But they have not said how the pair died or provided further information on the matter, citing the ongoing investigation.

Scotch Plains police say officers forcibly entered the Jerusalem Road home around 8:30 a.m. Saturday. They said the deaths are under investigation due to undisclosed "suspicious circumstances."

Neighbors said the man was renting the home, adding that he and his son had only recently moved in.

The Union County Homicide Task Force is also involved in the investigation. County authorities said autopsies were being conducted Sunday, but further details were not available.
