Father Dies After Shooting While Visiting Child at Pennsylvania Home

Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a father was shot and killed during an argument while apparently trying to visit his child in a Pittsburgh home.

Investigators said 35-year-old Robert Wilson was shot at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the Homewood neighborhood.

Public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said Wilson and the new boyfriend of the child's mother got into an argument at the home.

Toler said Wilson was heard saying he "wanted to see his child" before the shooting occurred.

Wilson was taken to UPMC Presbyterian, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday.

The other man was taken into custody at the scene. Toler said investigators will consult with prosecutors to determine whether charges are warranted.
