Fatal Car Accident in North Philadelphia

31-year-old killed early Sunday morning

Police are investigating a fatal car accident that happened in North Philadelphia early Sunday morning.

Authorities say a 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital shortly before 2 a.m. Investigators say that the man was driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata on West Erie Avenue when he sideswiped another vehicle. In the process of fleeing the scene, authorities say the man hit three other vehicles before coming to a stop near the intersection of Erie and Germantown Avenues.

The occupants of the four other vehicles were treated for minor injuries. The deceased man's name has not been released due to lack of family notification.
