Liscio's Bakery is celebrating the official opening of the new production facility in Gloucester County, New Jersey.
The local bakery was founded in 1994 and is still family owned and operated. The company sells direct to customers and provides hoagie and cheesesteak rolls to many corporate clients.
Three retail stores as well as the original production facility are all located in South Jersey. The new facility will be in Glassboro.
"We are happy to grow here in New Jersey. We now have one of the premier bakeries in the entire region right here in South Jersey. We'll stay close to our families and employees," said Chad Vilotti, who owns the business with James Liscio.
Liscio's Italian Bakery is receiving $13.5M over the next 10 years from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority under the Grow NJ tax credit program. The decision was made after Liscio's considered moving the production facility out of New Jersey and into Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
