A man was sentenced to life in prison without parole in a slaying outside a Philadelphia concert being held to promote peace and stem violence in the city almost three years ago.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that jurors deliberated for about 2½ hours Monday before convicting 24-year-old William Greene of second-degree murder in the August 2014 shooting death of 20-year-old Alexis Guevara outside the Dell Music Center in the city's Fairmount Park.
A friend of the victim testified last week that Guevara was arguing with another man outside the "Philly Support Philly Peace on the Streets" hip hop concert when Greene walked up, tried to rob him and then shot him.
