Gunman Puts Weapon to Head of Resident Using Bathroom

A man put a gun to the head of a man using the bathroom inside his North Philadelphia home overnight.

A 58-year-old man told Philadelphia Police that he had parked his vehicle on W Cornwall Street around 11:45 p.m. Saturday and went into his home at the corner of N Fairhill Street to use the toilet.

The man left the front door open as he relieved himself, said police. A gunman, who knows the unidentified resident, then entered the home and put a gun to the resident’s head.

The resident was able to pull down the gun but in the process was shot in the upper left thigh, said police. The two then struggled for the weapon, falling into the shower as they fought.

The gunman – described as being in his late 20s and standing around 5-foot, 9-inches tall with possible cornrows – eventually grabbed a couple chains and pulled them around the victim’s neck before letting him go and fleeing the home eastbound on Cornwall Street.

Police asked anyone with information to contact Philadelphia Police.
