Escaped Wolf Returns to Pa. Home

The 13-year-old wolf escaped from his home on Feb. 28.

An elderly wolf that escaped from captivity is back at a Pennsylvania wildlife rehabilitation center after nearly two weeks.

The wolf named "Baby Martin" escaped from his one-acre enclosure on February 28 after a tree fell on a fence. But now he's back with his owners after a man reported seeing him on his property about 10 miles away from the wolf's longtime home.

Tom Nelson used a tranquilizer gun to capture the 13-year-old wolf Wednesday afternoon and return him to Pennsylvania Raptor and Wildlife Association, the animal rehabilitation center he and Hope
Carpenter operate out of their Upper Mount Bethel Township home.

The animal was not considered dangerous. Nelson said the wolf had lost about 10-pounds but needed no major medical care.
