Authorities said a man was shot by police during an early morning confrontation in northwestern Pennsylvania, but his injuries weren't believed to be life-threatening.
The Erie Times-News reported that Erie police officers were sent to the city's west side at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday after a report of a man with a gun.
Chief Randy Bowers said officers found an armed man outside, and "there was gunfire at that point."
Bowers said he believes the man was hit twice, but it was unclear if the gunfire came from more than one officer. No officers were injured.
He said "At this early stage, it appears none of the police offices did anything wrong."
The man's name wasn't released. Bowers said he didn't immediately know what kind of weapon was involved.
