Police Shoot, Kill ‘Suicidal' Man at New Jersey Home: Prosecutor's Office

Police shot and killed a 47-year-old man during a confrontation with police at his New Jersey home, authorities said.

Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, said officers were called to the man's Little Egg Harbor home on Wild Oaks Court Tuesday morning for a report of a "suicidal male."

He said the man may have had a knife, but investigators were probing what led up to the shooting.

Della Fave didn't disclose how many officers fired or if any officers were injured in the altercation.

Authorities didn't immediately identify the man.

The shooting is under investigation by the prosecutor's office.
