Man Punches Jogger, Throws Her to the Ground

Police in eastern Pennsylvania hope someone recognizes the man who they say assaulted a woman jogging along a popular recreational trail.

Easton Police released a sketch Monday of a suspect in the May 13 assault along the Karl Stirner Arts Trail along the Bushkill Creek in Easton, Pa.

As a 40-year-old woman jogged along the trail around 4:30 in the afternoon, a man in his late teens or early 20s grabbed her from behind, threw her to the ground and punched her, according to investigators.

Police didn’t give a motive for the attack.

The suspect is described as standing about 5-foot-10-inches tall and weighs about 180 to 190 pounds. He has dark spiky hair and was wearing a red shirt, black jeans and carried a black string-style backpack during the attack.

Investigators asked that anyone who might recognize the suspect or saw something the day of the attack to contact Easton Police Det. Snyder at 610-250-6637 or submit an anonymous tip to 610-250-6635.
