East Market, a mixed-use development on a block at 11th and Market streets in Center City, reached a milestone Monday when concrete was poured for the footings for the first phase of the project.
Beginning early Monday morning, a convoy of 35 trucks began arriving at the site to pour 350 cubic yards of concrete onto the East Market site. Each truck has 10 yards of concrete.
By comparison, 400 trucks were brought in to pour 4,000 yards of concrete for the Comcast Innovation and Technology Center.
