DuPont Workers Get Offers to Keep Jobs After Sale to Hygiena

Existing jobs at DuPont's food safety diagnostics business in Delaware will remain after the unit is sold to Hygiena.

The News Journal of Wilmington reports DuPont and Hygiena announced the sale Wednesday. It is expected to close early next year.

Hygiena CEO Steve Nason says his company is extending the offer to DuPont employees to come work for the California-based life sciences firm. Nason says Hygiena also plans to add more workers in Delaware. That includes rehiring some of the unit's scientists who were let go earlier this year as part of DuPont's elimination of 1,700 Delaware jobs.
