Police say a driver was under the influence when he struck and killed a man in Philadelphia Monday afternoon.
The drunk driver was traveling near the intersection of 8th Street and Girard Avenue around 2 p.m. when he hit a 54-year-old man with his van, killing him, according to investigators.
Officials say the victim, who was working in the area, was helping his coworker back a vehicle out when he was struck.
Authorities have taken the driver into custody.
