Take A Regular Trip Across the Delaware River? $18 in Bridge Tolls Should Be Coming Your Way

Commuters who use four bridges between New Jersey and Pennsylvania can now receive discounts.

The Delaware River Port Authority's finance committee approved a measure in July that gives lower tolls to regular users of the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Betsy Ross and Commodore Barry bridges. Drivers who travel over them at least 18 times a month would see their toll drop from $5 to $4.

The move went into effect on Tuesday. It could save motorists with New Jersey E-ZPass accounts $18 a month and more than $200 a year.

Delaware River Port Authority officials say more than 2,500 transponders have been registered.

PATCO says customers who enroll by Dec. 28 and complete at least 18 trips across the bridges will receive an $18 credit on their next month's billing statement.
