Driver Hurt After Train Splits Truck in Half

A truck driver is recovering after a train collided with his tractor trailer in Berks County on Wednesday.

Officials say the truck collided with a Norfolk Southern train around 5:15 p.m. at the railroad crossing at Centre and Home Avenues in Topton, Pa.

The impact cut the truck's trailer in half.

The truck driver, who has not yet been identified, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the Lehigh Valley-Cedar Crest Hospital.

No one else was hurt in the crash.

Officials have not yet revealed what led to the collision.
