State police say a driver was sent to the hospital following a high-speed crash at a Sussex County dragway.
Master Cpl. Gary Fournier says the crash occurred Friday evening at the Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, where a 1970 Chevy Chevelle crashed into trees at the end of the drag strip.
Fournier says emergency medical services removed the driver, 66-year-old Carlton Mason of Pocomoke, Maryland, from the wreckage. Fournier says Mason was airlifted to the hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Details of how the crash occurred were not available.
