Man Shot, Killed Near Prom Party

A man is dead after a drive-by shooting on the 2700 block of Jefferson Street in North Philadelphia Friday night.

Police say a 22-year-old man was on a dirt bike when a gunman inside a car drove by and opened fire, striking the man once in the chest and once in the back. Sources tell NBC10's Nefertiti Jaquez the man was shot near a prom party. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Police are reviewing surveillance video from a nearby camera in the neighborhood.

No arrests have been made.

Police say another fatal shooting took place in the Wynnefield section of the city. On Saturday, around 12 a.m., police received a report of a shooting near 5300 Hazelhurst Street. When they arrived they found a 20-year-old man bleeding from the chest and stomach in front of a home. The victim was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead at 12:18 a.m. Police have not yet revealed his identity.

Police say three suspects, one wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and two wearing black hooded sweatshirts, fled the scene on foot.
