Dozens Arrested in Multi-County Drug Raids

Police say the raids turned up four pounds of cocaine, cash and guns.

More than two dozen people are behind bars Wednesday after a drug ring spanning three Pennsylvania counties was taken down, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.

Authorities say they used wiretaps to bring down 27 individuals involved in a cocaine ring in Philadelphia, Chester and Montgomery Counties.

For more than a month, investigators listened in on various conversations from some of the drug dealers. Those conversations led to 21 simultaneous raids on May 18, according to police.

The raids turned up four pounds of cocaine with a street value of more than $200,000, more than $75,000 in cash and a dozen guns.

Authorities say the headquarters of the drug operation is a Chester County Barbershop run by Anthony Dennis, 39, of Montgomery County.

The investigation of the operation began in 2008.
