Double Shooting Leaves Man Dead, Child Hurt

Police are investigating a shooting inside a home that left a man dead and a child injured in the Maguire Gardens neighborhood of Camden, New Jersey.

Police say 39-year-old Kenny Moultrie of Clementon was shot inside a home on the 2100 block of Sewell Street around 12:45 p.m. A 12-year-old boy who lived at the home was also struck in the shooting.

The child was taken to Cooper University Hospital and is responding well to treatment, according to investigators.

The home where the shooting took place is located right across from a playground where children, off from school for President's Day, were playing in the snow.

"I'm concerned because there are a lot of kids out here," said Stephanie Roberts, a Camden resident. "That's the main thing. I really don't know them and my heart goes out to the family."

Neighbors say a family of four, including a father who was a tattoo artist, recently moved into the home and kept to themselves. Police have not yet confirmed whether Moultrie was the father though he was not related to the boy who was struck, according to authorities.

Crime Scene Investigators were on scene collecting evidence, however, police have not yet released information on how the crime unfolded.
