Door-to-Door Donation Scheme in Cheltenham Township

Police want Cheltenham Township residents to be on the lookout for two men involved in a donation scheme.

The men went door to door on Wednesday in the Wyncote section of Montgomery County, asking for donations, police said.

They told people the money would help fund various programs including an internship at the BBC in London, youth basketball teams, magazine subscriptions, and help students at Jenkins High School in Jenkintown — which doesn't even exist.

One of the men is described as approximately 25-years-old and was last seen wearing an Under Armour brand T-shirt and shorts. The second man is around 18-years-old and was wearing a T-shirt and shorts.

Cheltenham Township Police are asking residents to keep doors locked and call 911 if they encounter anyone at their door asking for money.
