A Pennsylvania magistrate accused of drunken driving plans to apply for a program for first-time offenders.
The attorney for 29-year-old District Judge Kyley Scott says Scott will apply for the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program, which allows first-time offenders to avoid jail time and have their records cleared.
Scott is the daughter of Reading Mayor Wally Scott.
The Reading Eagle reports that Scott waived her preliminary hearing Wednesday.
Reading police stopped Scott April 2 after a woman reported seeing her vehicle swerving after leaving a bar. Police say Scott's blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit for driving.
Scott has continued to serve since being charged April 13.
