An argument over a woman ended when one northern New Jersey man allegedly stabbed another with scissors.
Elmwood Park police tell The Record that 30-year-old borough resident Frank Vargas was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
Police say the argument occurred Sunday afternoon, when a 29-year-old borough man allegedly was "disrespectful" to a woman who was with Vargas. The argument soon became physical, and Vargas allegedly stabbed the victim "numerous times."
The victim suffered a punctured lung and was hospitalized in stable condition. But he was expected to recover.
Vargas' bail was set at $300,000 and it was not known if he had retained an attorney.
