A Wilmington woman has been arrested on a charge of exploiting a physically disabled 70-year-old woman who had hired her.
New Castle County Police say a family member of the 70-year-old called police Monday to report that the woman's caretaker had been stealing from her. Police say the caretaker, identified as 29-year-old Chudilya Williams, used the 70-year-old's debit card at various stores and restaurants, and used it for ATM withdrawals totaling more than $1,300.
Police say the 70-year-old Wilmington woman is unable to walk and had hired Williams to help her with daily activities.
Williams was arrested on a charge of financial exploitation of an infirm adult.
It's unclear whether she has an attorney.
