A new mobile dental van will soon be rolled out to provide teeth cleanings, X-rays and root canals to Delaware residents up and down the state.
The News Journal of Wilmington reports that the van, a collaboration between health care provider Connections Community Support Programs and Barclays Bank Delaware, will specifically serve people within the Delaware Department of Correction's work-release and probation violation centers as well as Connections' addiction and behavioral health clinics.
Connections CEO Cathy Devaney McKay said in a statement that the van will be used to provide vital care to those in need.
Officials say the 38-foot vehicle has two treatment rooms and is expected to serve more than 1,500 patients, starting on Feb. 29.
Barclays supported the creation of the van with a $310,000 low-interest loan.
