A Delaware County case worker is lucky to be alive after she was shot in the head during a robbery in Chester.
The woman, who police say is a supervisor for the Delaware County Children & Youth Services, was walking to catch a train along 6th Street in Chester Monday around 6:15 p.m. when an armed robber approached her from behind.
Sources told NBC10 the gunman wrapped his arm around the woman and told her to pretend to be his girlfriend.

As the woman tried to get away, the man took out a gun and opened fire. A bullet pierced the woman's neck and became lodged in her head behind her ear.
The gunman fled the scene and the woman was taken to the hospital. Officials have not yet revealed her condition though they say she is alert and talking. She is expected to recover.
Police have not yet released a detailed description of the suspect.
