A Delaware man was arrested and charged after he allegedly struck a 1-year-old girl with his car and then fled the scene.

Elijah Meredith, 20, is charged with leaving the scene of a collision resulting in injury, failure to report a collision resulting in injury, driving while suspended and failure to have insurance in possession. He was arraigned and released on $800 bail.

The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. Friday along Roosevelt Avenue in the Tuxedo Park neighborhood of Wilmington.
