Del. Woman Infected With Measles: DHSS

The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) confirmed that a young woman in New Castle County has been infected with the measles.

This case marks the first in the state since 2012, said the Department of Health.

The woman, who is in her 20s, contracted the virus while abroad. She received treatment at a Delaware hospital and is recovering at home, said the DHSS.

The Health Department does not believe this case is related to the Disneyland outbreak.

The patient had not received the measles vaccination.
