Two days after a fire raged through a North Philadelphia warehouse and spilled debris across the tracks of SEPTA's Manayunk/Norristown Regional Rail line, SEPTA crews finally got trains going again Monday.
SEPTA said commuters should still, however, expect some delays as service gets back to normal.
A fire ripped through the 65,000 square-foot warehouse on the 2400 block of W Westmoreland Street early Saturday morning, causing a portion of a wall to collapse, officials said.
Pieces of the collapsed structure landed across SEPTA tracks, forcing the transit agency to suspend service on the Manayunk/Norristown line over the weekend.
Crews continued to work overnight Sunday into Monday morning to remove the debris from the tracks, a SEPTA spokeswoman said.
Shortly after 6 a.m., SEPTA announced service was restored but that some minor delays should be expected since trains would need to travel at reduced speeds past the fire scene.
