A man was killed while trying to cross a busy Delaware highway Thursday night.
The Delaware State Police launched an investigation into the deadly accident that happened around 8 p.m. on I-495 in Edgemoor.
The victim, an unidentified man was struck by a car while trying to cross the road. While on the ground, he was hit by several other vehicles, Delaware State Police said.
All of the cars that hit the man sped away from the scene, according to investigators.
All lanes on the northbound side of the road from Philadelphia Pike to Edgemoor were closed for nearly four hours.
Anyone with information is being asked to call state police.
