A cousin has been charged in the car-surfing death of a 15-year-old Pittsburgh boy who fell face-first off the car she was driving.
Police say 23-year-old Nadia Goins-Samuels surrendered Wednesday morning on charges including vehicular homicide and involuntary manslaughter in the death of Ronte Nelson-Goins.
Police say he was riding on the trunk of a car driven by Goins-Samuels when he suffered a severe head injury on Feb. 29. He never regained consciousness before dying on March 8 at UPMC Presbyterian hospital.
Online court records don't list an attorney for Goins-Samuels, who was in custody awaiting arraignment.
Police haven't charged her with drunken driving, but say she acknowledged drinking before driving down a street with one man on the hood of her car before Ronte jumped on, too.
