3 Charged With Stealing Philadelphia Councilwoman's Car

Three people have been jailed on charges they stole a Philadelphia councilwoman's city-issued car, and possessed the drugs found in it by suburban police.

Upper Darby police found Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown's car on Monday, a day after she reported it stolen from in front of her home. Police believe she left the keys in the vehicle, because they were allegedly found in the pocket of one of the suspects, 21-year-old Taryn Caesar, of Philadelphia.

Police have charged that woman and two men in the thefts.

Caesar, 21-year-old Kareem Holland, of Merion Station, and 18-year-old Sabir Scott, remained jailed without bond Wednesday. They face a preliminary hearing Aug. 18 on car theft and charges including possession of marijuana and prescription pills found in the vehicle.

Online court records didn't list defense attorneys.
