Pennsylvania's agriculture department is warning consumers about possibly contaminated raw milk from a northeastern Pennsylvania dairy.
The Reading Eagle reports the warning was issued about raw milk purchased from Gross Family Dairy in South Sterling. Milk collected during a routine sampling at the dairy has tested positive for listeria.
No illness from the contamination has been reported, but symptoms of can appear four days to three weeks after ingestion, said the department of agriculture.
Symptoms include fever, muscle aches and nausea or diarrhea.
The milk is sold in half gallons and pints, and was bottled Dec. 20. It has a sell-by date of Dec. 30.
The dairy has been ordered to stop selling raw milk until two samples taken at least 24 hours apart both test negative for the pathogens.
