Comcast wireless Internet customers are in for a surprise on one of their upcoming bills — no, it's not a price hike this time.
The massive Philadelphia broadband provider announced Tuesday it would increase Internet speeds for most of its Northeast consumers at no extra cost. Its most popular Blast! tier will go from 105 Mbps to 150 Mbps.
Comcast will also add a new tier, called Performance Pro, at 75 Mbps, tripling speed for many Xfinity Triple Play users.
However, some customers who are subscribed to Comcast's most basic packages will not see their Internet speed increase, Comcast spokeswoman Jen Bilotta said.
