Ex-Cop, Facing Murder Trial, Pleads Guilty in Stalking Case

A former suburban Philadelphia police officer, accused of killing his ex-girlfriend, has pleaded guilty in a separate stalking case.

Stephen Rozniakowski's lawyer says his client took the plea deal with Montgomery County prosecutors Monday so he can focus on his murder trial. He was sentenced to 23 months in prison.

In Delaware County, Rozniakowski faces criminal homicide murder and other charges for the death of Valerie Morrow.

Authorities alleged that the part-time Colwyn officer killed Morrow and shot her daughter last year in Glenolden before he was wounded by the victim's husband, also a part-time officer.

They say Rozniakowski began stalking and harassing Morrow after she broke off their relationship.

The cases are unrelated, but prosecutors in Delaware County could use Monday's stalking case as evidence in the murder trial.
