The University of Pennsylvania has announced Democratic United States Senator Cory Booker as this year's commencement speaker. Booker will address the class of 2017 on Monday, May 15, and receive an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree.

Rock & Roll Hall-of-Famer and founding member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band Steven Van Zandt is set to address the Class of 2017 at Rutgers University on Sunday, May 14. Rutgers will also present Van Zandt with an honorary doctor of fine arts degree.

Immaculata University has announced Sister Rosemary Donley as the 2017 commencement speaker on Sunday, May 21. Donley's life of service has helped numerous immigrants, veterans, children, people with disabilities and victims of violence and she will receive the Immaculata Medal in honor of her dedication.

Madeline Bell, President and CEO of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), is scheduled to make the 2017 commencement speech at Saint Joseph's University's undergraduate graduation on Sunday, May 20. Bell is the first woman to be named the CEO of CHOP.nIn addition, alumna Linda Cliatt-Wayman will deliver the graduate and doctoral commencement address. Cliatt-Wayman is a leader in education advocacy on behalf of children living in poverty.
