A Philadelphia city building won’t open today because employees can’t safely access their offices due to a mechanical failure.
Mayor Michael Nutter’s office announced Wednesday morning that One Parkway Building located at 1515 Arch Street will remain closed until further notice due to mechanical issues with the elevators in the 18-story building.
The City Planning Commission, Department of Human Services, Law Department, Labor Relations, Parks and Recreation and other city offices are housed in the One Parkway high-rise.
The city is expected to update the status of the building later Wednesday.

In the mean time they urged employees to not report to the building today and to instead get in touch with their supervisors for further instruction.
