Gov. Chris Christie will be in Somerset for another town hall meeting.
The Republican governor is likely to return to a familiar theme of stabilizing property taxes as he talks up his budget proposal on Tuesday.
Christie has been urging the Assembly to extend a 2 percent cap on salaries that can be awarded to police and firefighter unions that enter contract arbitration. The cap law expired April 1.
The Legislature sent Christie a bill allowing raises of up to 3 percent in certain circumstances and exempting many bargaining units from the cap. Christie conditionally vetoed the bill.
The governor has been holding town halls as he attempts to rebound from a political retribution scandal.
Christie aides tied up traffic in Fort Lee to get back at the mayor.
